A small settlement at a height 600 m n.p.m. it's no secret: Many tourists come here. However, before 10.00 seems, that there is no living spirit in this fancifully situated town (except maybe pirate ghosts, who 100 years ago they lived here…). Just a 6-kilometer drive from the south to a tiny village at an altitude 600 m n.p.m. he is very attractive. There are some great viewpoints along the route, from which you can beautifully see the sweeping views of the Barranco de Masca. To fully appreciate the beauty of the landscape, it's best to go here in good weather, although you have to admit, that the town looks very interesting, when thick clouds flow from the surrounding slopes. The bus goes here six times a day #355 from Buenavista del Norte and four times a day from Santiago del Teide, however this, what's the most beautiful, waiting along the way – Due to the possibility of stopping at viewpoints, it is worth choosing a trip with your own means of transport.
Children 12 km south of Maska lies the small town of Tamaimo. From the perspective of the road running through it, it does not seem attractive, however, it is worth parking your car for a while and enter the maze of small traditional houses, where a charming white square with the Santa Ana Church is hidden.
It has grown up at the foot of the cliffs, for now, a relatively small and quiet resort of Los Gigantes, which has practically blended in with the nearby resort of Playa Santiago to such an extent, that is hard to recognize, where one town ends, and the second begins. Hotel, restaurants, bars and souvenir shops - in one word a typical summer resort, although, at least for now, on a smaller scale than the more famous southern resorts.
Cliffs of Giants
In the western part of the Teno massif, solidified lava formed a huge one, rising above 600 m The Giants – Cliffs of Giants. They look most beautiful from Playa de los Gigantes and from the vantage point at the very beginning of Puerto de Santiago (at the intersection of TF-454 and Avda. Jose Gonzalez Fortes). The rocks are worth seeing from the sea – excursions in the vicinity of Los Gigantes, combined with watching dolphins and whales, are organized from Puerto de Santiago and Los Cristianos.
