Teguise – guide

TEGUISE

Communication and information

Getting to Teguise is easy – the main LZ-10 road runs through the city, connecting Arrecife with the northern part of the island. Also, people traveling by bus will have no problem reaching the former capital of Lanzarote – buses stop several times a day in the town #7, 9 i 10.

Information can be obtained from the city's tourist information desk at Plaza de la Constitución.

Accommodation and gastronomy

It is surprising, but Teguise has basically no beds. The only option is to rent the Estudio Chimida a few hundred meters north of the old town (c / Jaime Balmes 14; ©928815020, fax 928083333, estudiochimida@lanarote.com; min. 7 days).

Most of the eateries are concentrated in the old town. One of the most atmospheric places is the Wein Patio restaurant run by a couple of Germans (c / Herrera y Rojas 9; s928845773). In the green courtyard of the beautifully restored 15th-century Palacio del Marques you can taste the best wines and tapas - the only downside is the relatively high prices. It has also been operating for over 40 years Acatife restaurant (pc. Constitution 1; ©928845037), serving traditional Canarian cuisine. It is also worth visiting La Bodequita de Teguise (c/Dacil 6; ©928845330).
