Active recreation
The main activity of many, if not the majority of those who vacation in the south of Tenerife is flipping from side to side on the beach, however, if
someone wants something more, you will not be disappointed, because the offer of resorts is not limited only to sunbathing. In search of inspiration, you can go to one of the tourist information offices, where there are plenty of leaflets with offers to spend your free time, and to the port of Los Cristianos, where a company that intermediates in booking various attractions has its stands.
Golf
The south of Tenerife is a real golf basin – There are several perfectly prepared courses at the disposal of fans of this sport: Golf Costa Adeje, South Golf, and Golf Las Americas right in the center of Playa Americas.
Diving
The south coast area is characterized by calm waters, therefore diving is very popular here. Prices for a single descent into the water start from approx. 35 €, but they fall when you take out a few descents. Even people can try their hand at diving, that have never gone under water before. Several-day courses are planned especially for them (ok. 200 €) or one test descent for beginners (ok. 50 €).
Before departure, you can see the offer of Ocean Trek and Fun Dive Tenerife companies. The company Bob Diving has an interesting offer – You go under the water in a specially prepared single-person scooter, which is equipped with a kind of helmet or rather a glass capsule, oxygen is pumped into.
Ship cruises
Boat trips lasting several hours in search of dolphins and whales are very popular entertainment. Usually, lunch is also included in the price of the cruise, drinks and a short stop for a swim in a cove. Ships depart from the port of Playa de los Cristianos or Puerto Colón. The price is usually approx. 40-50 € for adults and 25 € for children. Royal Delfin and Tropical Delfin have a glass bottom, through which you can admire the underwater world. It is more intimate and cheaper on smaller ships: „Neptuno” i „Travelin Lady”, which depart from the port of Los Cristianos. There is also a "Shogun" from there, "Pirate" galleon. A real catamaran cruise with the Free Bird Sailing company will be a greater sailing experience; the offer includes family cruises, but also VIP cruises and sunset cruises, combined with a party at the port.
Theme and nature parks
Several theme parks have been created around the resorts, where you can play and relax, which will especially please families with children. Siam Park is a popular place, where slides and other water attractions are kept in oriental style. Another option is a small Aqua Park.
In Las Aguilas Jungle Park, on the other hand, you can see wild animals and shows of birds of prey. There are pets in Camel Park; its biggest attraction is a camel ride.
