Anaga massif (spanish. Anaga Massif) located in the northeastern part of the island. It has an irregular and jagged topographic profile. The highest peak is the height of Cruz de Taborno 1024 m n.p.m. The history of the massif dates back to 7 do 9 millions of years and it is one of the oldest parts of the island. Anaga is also the "green lungs" of Tenerife with exceptionally clean air and natural environment.
It is an area that slopes steeply into the ocean with steep mountain slopes, difficult to reach green valleys and dense forests. The Anaga Mountains offer a spectacular landscape and a great variety of nature, more than 120 local species of endemic plants and animals. The natural habitats found there are some of the best ecosystems on the island. It is also a sparsely populated area, more than two thousand people live in twenty-six picturesque settlements and villages in the park. They represent an extraordinary form and priceless cultural heritage in this difficult terrain.
Thanks to the natural conditions and the dedication of its inhabitants, Anaga is a treasury of local varieties of products, which are unique. They're like Papas borrallas, varieties of sweet potatoes, sweet potatoes, wine and fruit, as well as many ecological and cultural practices, they additionally emphasize the uniqueness of this area of Tenerife.
Anaga has an interesting network of roads and paths leading through lush forests and steep mountain slopes with stunning ocean views, sometimes on both sides of the island. It is an ideal terrain for multi-day trekking, bicycle trips or bus trips. The Anaga Mountains are much less known and visited by tourists, for us they are extremely unique, mystical, worth seeing and recommending.
