Communication and orientation
La Graciosa is separated from Lanzarote by an isthmus called el Rio ("river”), which, with a bit of luck, you can go with one of the inhabitants going to the island by their own boat. A much more reliable means of transport is the Lineas Maritimas Romera ferry departing from Orzola (c / Garcfa Escamez 11, tallow cove; ©9024001666, www.lineas-romero.com; VII — X codz. 10.00, 12.00,13.30,18.30, return every day. 8.00, 1 1.00,12.30, 16.00 i 18.00, XI-VII 10,00, 12.00, 17.00, return 8.00, 11.00, 16.00; adults 20 € return, kids 12 €).
The lines also organize day trips around La Graciosa (adults 54 C, kids 25 €) – The price includes transport from / to the hotel and lunch on board the ferry. Sailors can come to La Graciosa with their own yacht and dock in the port of Caleta de Sebo.
Navigating the island is one great adventure – La Graciosa is probably the last place in the European Union, where there is not a single piece of asphalt. You can walk on sandy roads remembering the years 50. XX w. jeeps (there is always a vehicle in the port, whose owner is ready to visit tourists around the island for a fee) and bicycles, which can be rented next to the pier (Bike Graciosa Island; ©928842138; ok. 8 € for the whole day). People who decide to rent two-wheelers should be in good shape - riding on unpaved roads, often sandy routes are not the easiest. It's best to rely on your own feet, especially, that it takes approx. 4 at.
