By far the most convenient way to get around the island is by car, especially, that renting a car is relatively cheap. Persons, who rented a car in Tenerife can go on the ferry with it, however, they must take into account an additional cost: from 40 (Arms Shipping Company) do 100 € (Fred Olsen).
The winding and sometimes narrow roads of La Gomera require a lot of agility at the wheel. Before taking a sharp turn, it is worth honking gently, to avoid a collision.

Accommodation
La Gomera has quite a good base, although it is not as extensive as on the larger islands. The main clusters of hotels and apartments are San Sebastian, Santiago oraz Valle Gran Rey beach, however, guesthouses can also be found in other places, hotels and apartments. People planning to travel around the island by bus should choose San Sebastian. Good places for sunbathing are Playa Santiago and Valle Gran Rey. Hermigua and Vallehermoso, on the other hand, provide a base for these, who plan to go hiking inland.
The best accommodation is offered in casas rurales ~ traditional renovated and rustic houses. You can choose and book casa rural with the help of Ecotural (922144101, www.ecoturismocanarias.com/gomera). Camping on Gomera is forbidden - the only place, where you can pitch a tent, is a free La Vista campsite in El Cedro.
Gastronomy
With a few exceptions, the inhabitants of the island also dine in La Gomera's restaurants, therefore the food is fresh, provided by friendly and extremely helpful staff (often by the owners themselves). It is worth ordering potaje de berros for the first course (thick cress soup), a na drugie fish of the day (fish of the day), rabbit eon almonds (hare in almonds), lub barred kid (grilled lamb, marinated in lemon sauce, garlic and green parsley). Fish and meat are often served with mojo hen / ido sauce (garlic mixture, hot peppers, cumin, bay leaves and olive oil, boiled before serving - Spanish. boil).
La Gomera is known for its excellent sweets and pastries. You cannot leave the island without trying alfajor (sponge cake sprinkled with powdered sugar with marmalade or thick caramel cream), ton of villain (kind of fruitcake, to which ordinary and sweet potatoes are added, raisins and almonds) czy curd cake (kind of cheesecake). The most important sweet product from La Gomera is miel de palma, that is, dark and extremely sweet palm honey, which is produced, reducing the milk juice obtained from the leaves of the palm tree – the bees are not involved in this process.
Gourmets appreciate the perfect, delicately smoked spicy sheep's and goat's milk cheeses. After mixing the grated hard cheese with the olive oil, hot paprika and garlic create an interesting almogrote paste, which tastes great with fresh bread and croutons. When it comes to local liquors, it's worth tasting white wines on La Gomera, e.g. Summits of Garajony, The Caves czy Roque Cano. The meal is perfectly crowned with gomerrór – a glass of rum or aguardiente with palm honey.
Great collection of information. I will definitely use it 🙂
