Yacht charters in the Canary Islands.
The Canary Islands are ideal for diving and sailing holidays all year round. They are located near the northwest coast of Africa next to Western Sahara. The constant north-west wind dominates here almost all year round, making sailing a really exciting experience, but at the same time chartering a yacht here requires more experience than e.g.. in the Mediterranean Sea.
Yacht charter in Tenerife gives you the opportunity to visit the three least changed and urbanized islands of the archipelago - La Palma, La Gomery and El Hierro, which for a very long time before the discovery of America, were considered the end of the world.
The Canary Islands have a very good infrastructure in the form of numerous ports and marinas.
Sailing in Tenerife
The yachts are located in the capital of Tenerife Santa Cruz and in the San Miguel marina in the south of the island near the airport. The island is home to Spain's highest peak, beautiful beaches and seaside restaurants. Santa Cruz is a nice town with lots of shaded squares and great shops.
La Gomera remains an oasis untouched by organized tourism and that is its greatest charm. Wild, secluded coves, the ancient laurel forest and the historic port of San Sebastian, from which Columbus set off on his first historical journey are its greatest attractions.
La Palma is the most exotic island of the entire archipelago made of a volcanic crater. The coastline is formed by majestic steep cliffs and black volcanic beaches.
El Hierro is the smallest beautiful island, raw appearance, crystal clear water and amazing rock formations. Perfect for snorkeling or diving.

Day 1 :
Embarkation in Santa Cruz, the capital of Tenerife, about 30min drive from the airport.
Day 2 :
Saint Sebastian (28nm) was a port, from which Christopher Columbus set off on his famous voyage. A night in Puerto de Playa Santiago combined with trying the local cuisine. The whole island is a wonderful sanctuary of natural beauty, undamaged by man. We recommend a trip to the land and admiring the steep cliffs, amphibian, palm groves and Garajonay National Park, a unique ecological treasure with green laurel forests.
Day 3 :
Gates of the Port of Tazacorte (60nm)and La Palmie, the most exotic of all the islands, formed from a volcano crater. La Palma is called by the Canarians the "Beautiful Island" because of its incredibly lush vegetation, an abundance of fresh clean water and plenty of flowers contrasting with the volcanic forms that testify to the origin of the island.
Day 4 :
La Restinga (65nm) in El Hierro. Spectacular scenery above and below the water's surface. The ocean here is exceptionally transparent and under the water we meet amazing rock formations and beautiful fish. All this and the very friendly disposition of the inhabitants make visiting the smallest island an unforgettable experience.
Day 5:
Port of Valle Gran Reyiseros (45nm) on La Gomera is another charming port on this island.
Day 6 :
Return to Tenerife. Marina w Los Gigantes (25nm) it is an interesting haven where a lot is going on. It is situated next to a sandy beach and beautiful cliffs.
Day 7 :
Return to the port of Santa Cruz.
A sailing holiday in the Canary Islands requires appropriate prior experience up to the RYA level of the Coastal Helmsman.
It is the open Atlantic, not the semi-enclosed Mediterranean or the predictable Caribbean. The distances between the islands are considerable, the wind may be strong.
